Marcus Marcellus and Mary Elizabeth (Harrison) Palmer were my 2nd great-grandparents. Marcus was born Jun. 15, 1828 in Ky. He died Aug. 27, 1912 in Miller Co., Mo. His wife Mary Elizabeth Harrison who he married Dec. 4, 1849 in Morgan Co., Mo. was born Dec. 27, 1831 in Ky. She died Jan. 16, 1903 in Miller Co., Mo.
I'm interested in the ancestors and descendants of this couple. Would be glad to exchange information.
Thank you.

I recently received Marcus' death certificate and wonder what you may have learned since 2006 regarding his parents & siblings?

Thanks,
R. Palmer White

My family records show that his parents were Elihu H. and Dorotha Ann (Burris) Palmer both born in Virginia. Someone found a marriage record that shows that Dorotha Ann Burris was listed as Doritha Sutton. I'm not sure what to think about his. I do have a list of his brothers and sisters. Most of them also married in Morgan County, Missouri. Lucian married in Cole County, Missouri however.
Dorotha died in 1860 in Miller County, Missouri. While Elihu died earlier in Morgan County, Missouri. Let me know what you think. I have pictures of Marcus and Lucian. Are we related somehow?

The parents of Mary Elizabeth (Harrison) Palmer were Joseph and Milla Ann (Burris) Harrison. They also lived in Morgan County, Missouri. Joseph died there and was buried there. His wife died in Miller County, Missouri and is buried in the same cemetery as Marcus and Mary Elizabeth Palmer at the Jukes Cemetery near Tuscumbia, Missouri. Her stone is broken now and her name is no longer visible. Only some of the dates remain.

I thought it looked like his father was Elihu on the death certificate. So I need to determine if this Palmer is connected to mine.

What are the names of M. M. Palmer's siblings?

Do you have the name of Marcus' father and/or his uncles?

Who is this Lucian you mentioned?

Elihu H. and Dorotha Ann Palmer had 6 children that I know of. They were Lucian who married Clarissa A. Lear. Mary who married Abraham Kellison. Cornelia who married Piner Penegar. Marcus M. who married Mary Elizabeth Harrison (My 2nd great-grandparents). Irena who married William Pinnegar. And John L. who married Nancy M. (Allen) Bartlett.
There were some other Palmers living in Morgan County, Missouri that I don't know anything about.
