Hello, I am reching out, trying to contact any living family that originates from Frank and Sarah Elizabeth Mullins Ballentine. Sarah died prior to Frank's relocation from Oklahoma to Garfield County, Montana around 1902. There are several people in the area still and abroad that are diectly related to these two. I am related through Frank's brother Dudley Balentine (these two brothers spelled there names slightly different) and would like to talk about sharing picture and stories of the family. it would be nice to have some form of representation for Frank and his family to include in our own story. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely, Russ

Hi Russ,
I think you'll have better success finding descendants by following up on the descendants in the Raines, Halley, Holley, et. al. Family Tree.

For example Elvira Ballentine Ryan died Dec. 10, 1988 in Jordan, Garfield Co., MT.

You can request a copy of her obituary from the Garfield County Library, 406-557-2297 or Drawer 69, Jordan, MT 59337-0069.

After I receive the obituary, I look for survivors. Then I use zabasearch.com or spokeo.com to look up current contact info.

If you need help with where to find obituaries, contact me. Successful Searching & Happy Holidays!

Hi Judy,
Thank you so much for your savvy insight! I appreciate the tip and I agree that it sounds like the better way. Looks like you may have done this sort of thing before. LOL I was thinking about writing a letter to the Senior Center in Jordan, MT, to "Anyone", asking about living descendants. I like your idea better. Once again, thank you so much and I do hope to have Happy Holidays, and you do the same. I am still wandering about the Successful Searching part... lol

Sincerely, Russ Looney

btw... The tree you mentioned is my mother's and I's tree, and the Balentines are the very family that got me started and, still, the ones that I cannot figure out. Par for the course I guess...
