I'm looking for info re: Nancy Daniels. She was I believe a Cherokee Indian who walked the Trail Of Tears. She married Jesse Williams and the had a son named Paul Daniel Williams (born March 1835 in Fairmont Grant, Indiana.).I belive Paul was Blind and yet he was a Scout on the Trail..

If your ancestor had a child in Indiana four years BEFORE the Trail of Tears, she would not have participated in the Removal. She would not have been living with the tribe-- and THAT'S the people they wanted to get rid of, not "citizens of the United States" who were living in Indiana.
