Trying to find information about the Eliza F Marshall who was listed in the 1910 adams co census with her husband Ezra and several children. Eliza was born in 1861 in KY. One World Tree has her as Louisa Deaton daughter of William and Martha of Rockcastle co ky. I was hoping someone could confirm this. Louisa was maried four times: Cozine, Thurman, Bedingfield, and Marshall.

Ezra and Eliza are buried in the Lind (Adams Co.) WA cemetery. I have copies of death certificates and obituaries for both. Also have copy of death certificate for Fay Marshall, son of Ezra and his first wife. Fay is also buried in Lind Cem.

Have Elmer D. Cozine, son of George & Viola Marshall Cozine; George W. Cozine; Isabelle Eckleberry (dau of George and Viola) and her husband Glen. Have death certificates and obits for most of them. All are buried in Lind Cem. Also Viola Cozine buried there as well, but do not have further info on her.

If you would like copies email me at stokesmarietta@hotmail.com

I do not believe that Eliza (Elizabeth Francis) and Louisa are the same person. Both are listed on the 1870 and 1880 censuses. Eliza is Beckey or Rebecca, but not Louisa.

Eliza and her sister Cyntha travelled together at least to Arkansas (marrying the Thurman brothers) and to Missouri (checking into a poor house), but I see no evidence that Louisa made this trip.

In any case, good to have you on the same team. Why are you interested in these folks?

Eliza and Cyntha are my grandfather's aunts . His mother was Sarah Deaton who first married Arthur Cornett then Joseph Reynolds. I have been having a problem with the Louisa/Eliza name too. Louisa had an older sister named Elizabeth who was born around 1847. She is in the 1860 Rockcastle CO KY census. Rebecca and Eliza are different people. Rebecca married Thomas Arnold in 1880 and they were still married when he died in the 1920's. Eliza seems to have been married at least four times. There is also a cousin named "Becky". The whole Deaton family seems to have moved west in the mid to late 1800's

I thank you for the information. I have only been able to place Eliza and Cyntha in berryville Arkansas in 1900. Then someone from Washington state sent me death information and a picture of Eliza's grave. according to the census record Cyntha was the mother of one child and a widow in 1900 census and I know she died in 1901, I was wondering if you have any information about her child? Again thanks for the information.

Eliza is my father-in-law's gradnmother, through her first marriage, the Cozines.

I am very distressed to hear that I may still be confused on Eliza. {grumble}{grumble}

I have many times benefitted by interracting with Marietta Stokes from Adams County Washington. She is wonderfully helpful.

I see the cousin "Becky", but that is still on a census where the other Beckey or Rebecca is listed. I am not entirely unconvinced that Eliza = Beckey = Rebecca. Can you provide more on Rebeccas's marriage and subsequent widowhood?

Sadly, the check in at the Missouri poor house lists only Cyntha's "child". Only Eliza's kids are listed by name. {grumble again} The date on this visit, where Eliza and Cyntha are named "Thurman", is late August 1895.

There is one odd piece of evidence that someone thinks Eliza's parents are Chade Deaton and Virginia Walker. I don't know the source of ef this relationship.
