I cannot find any information on my Grandfather, Nicholas or possibly Thomas Tzimorotas. He is from Macedonia and emmigrated to New York City in the early 1900's. He married May Starbach. Any info would be very helpful.

There is a Tsimoridis and a Tsimaratos listed at ellisisland.org for the early 1900s. Try there. I tried the census for Tzimoratos and the two versions above and found nothing.

You could also find the surname navigator at cyndi'slist.com, under greece, and type in Tzimoratos, which will give you a page that is the Greek Telephone directory, listing all the Tzimoratos names in the book.

I believe that I can help you. My last name is Tzimorotas, I am from Macedonia, Greece and my father's uncle is Thomas who went to New York City in the early 1900's. Also my dad's grandfather, Nicholas, emmigrated to New York around 1914-17 and after some years returned to Greece. Please feel free to post more info, I'll do my best to help.
