Gregorio GIUSTO and his wife Francesca PATRONA (or PATRONE) emigrated from Genoa province to Boston about 1841, apparently accompanied by children Francesco (183?), Maria Battistina (1835) and Angelo (1840 ?). Daughter Clara was born Boston 1844. Francesco (Frank) married Paulina CHIAPARELLI in Jackson 1854, later raised a large family in SF. Maria B. married Rocco CAMINETTI in Boston 1851, raised a large family in Amador Co. and SF. My gggrandmother, Clara GIUSTO, married Biagio CAMINETTI, Rocco's brother, about 1865 and had two children with him in Jackson (Antonio B. and Caroline CAMINETTI), and four children by 2nd husband, Santi CAMPI, two of whom, Rose Campi MEHEGAN and Francesco (Frank) CAMPI, survived to adulthood. Angelo GIUSTO died by 1889 leaving a daughter Francesca, possibly in NJ. I'm interested in sharing information on the family with other descendants.

As usual, you're probably way ahead of me, so this is probably old news. Last night, I was playing around with the censuses for Hudson County. I tried different spellings for our Giusto, and BINGO. I found Gregory and his family in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. His wife's name is listed as Polonia and Pauline. There are other children I hadn't had before. Try using Guisto, which was probably just the enumerator's spelling of the surname.
