I am looking for info on two of my distant relatives. Smith E. McBRIDE and Richard MCBRIDE. Smith m. Savina Chrisman. Smith d. aft 1915 in Ca, location unknown. Richard was living in Fresno in 1934 when his mother died according to the death notice in the newspaper. Couldn't find Richard in 1930 census or any other listing in Fresno papers. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

possibly Smith's d.o.d.
from CADI 1905-1929

MCBRIDE S.E., spouse/S, age 53y, d.Fresno Co, 6/21/24
[age and y.o.d. make him b.c1871]

Are you refering to Richard, the son of Smith and Savenia McBRIDE in the 1910 Tulare Co, CA census?
I haven't been able to find Richard in the 1930 either; if I find any more will let you know. nanc

I have found a few things that might be of some help. The CA Voters list indicates that Richard was living in the same home as Vena (Savena) in Fresno.

California Voter Registrations, 1900-1968 >
Fresno County > 1928
McBRIDE Richard S., clerk, 531 Poplar...Rep
McBRIDE Mrs.Vene, drsmkr, 531 Poplar...Decl.

Fresno County > 1932
McBRIDE, Richard S., 531 Poplar, Fresno...Rep
McBRIDE, Mrs. Vene, 531 Poplar, Fresno...Dem

..but still didn't find Richard listed in the 1930 Fresno Co census; maybe he was missed or elsewhere or just horribly transcribed wrong.

Also found this WWII registration that could be Richard:

Nanc, you've come to my rescue again. The death of S.E. McBride appears to be him. As for Richard, I agree with you that he is missing from the census. He should have been listed with Savenia in the 1930 census as he was living there in 1928 and 1932. And the Enlistment record is likely him. He is married when he enlisted, so I'll check to see if I can find some notice of his marr. in both Ca. and NV. Thank you for all the info.

Savenia "Vene" Chrisman had a brother Job E. Chrisman who was born 15 Jul 1882 to Josiah Chrisman and Mahalia Adeline Dunn. Job E. Chrisman married twice, first to a Florence Elizabeth, second to a Eva M. Can anyone help with either of their maiden names?

Thank you very much! I've been searching for it for a long time. Also it tells me where another great uncle lived. Now I can start on J. G. McBride. Thank you, Jim
