Hey! My name is Molly Moccabee, i'm 15 yrs old and I live in Toledo, Ohio. Just wondering if anyone out there has any background info on our history! Ü send me something if you know of anything! just thought it would be interesting!

What research have you done, Molly? Have you spoken to your Moccabee grandparents, or asked your parents about them? Have you looked at their marriage records, or even birth (and perhaps death) records? Have you looked in the Census for them? It's always best to work from the known -- you and your family, to the unknown -- the past.

There are 8 Moccabees listed in Ancestry's Index to the 1930 Census, and they all lived in Ohio; all but one was born there. The remaining individual, Ruth Moccabee, listed her birthplace as California, and was the head of the family at age 45, making her birthdate around 1885. This could be an interesting story. It looks as if most of the Moccabees in Ohio lived in Cuyahoga County, Cleveland township. Besides Ruth, the only Moccabee living in Franklin County Ohio was William M., age 54, a prisoner! The actual census image is for Ruth is missing, for some reason. :(

There are a lot of Moccabee'a around. I personally have birth and death records from my Grandmother in her writing, (Florence - Orville Moccabee) I live in Chillicothe, Ohio, Ross County. I have great and great-great grandparents buried here. (Gazaway Moccabee). I currently am in Toledo every monday thur Friday night for work. I'm not sure yet whech branch of the Moccabee's that you're from. Also living in Toledo is the last surviving member of my fathers siblings,

James, Florence and Orville Moccabee were my Aunt and Uncle on the Moccabee My Father was Orville's brother I now live in Virginia.
