Recent DNA testing has connected a line that started out as Boyatt, then Boyd to the Boyt-Boyett Surname Project. For additional information on the test results and lines contact me directly or link to our project page. Testing has also connected these lines to families in the UK who migrated to Sussex from France. The majority of the Boyett Project Members tested as Haplogroup G2 and have a 91% prediction of having a common ancester back 600 years. The G2 Haplogroup has been traced back 30,000 years.

The world is getting smaller through DNA Surname Testing.

There is a separate Boyd DNA project that has been in existence since 2002. You will find it listed at Family Tree DNA in Texas. There is also a Boyd DNA list at Rootsweb if you'd like to discuss matches with Boyds.

Please share your results with the Scottish DNA Project at Family Tree DNA.
