Margaret Elizabeth Weddle was born 5 October 1883 in Mitchell (Wheeler Co.), Oregon, to John Weddle and Alice Amis. This family was living in Lane County in 1900 (census ED 109, Sheet 13, Line 1). Before the 1920 census, Margaret married Stoa B. Harper, who was born 13 May 1880, Knox Co., Indiana.

I would presume that they would have married in the early 1900’s, and that the event would have taken place at her father’s home or hometown, but can find no record in Lane County. Did they perhaps return to Wheeler County for the wedding? Would appreciate marriage information if available.

(FYI Stoa died in Portland 29 October 1949; Margaret passed away there 28 March 1962.)

S.B. Harper, an Astoria clothing merchant, is in the city on business and is registered at the Carlton.

I also found that Stoa married Margaret in Washington on June 7, 1918 at noon. You can find their marriage certificate http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/
