My husband is related to Morning
Dove, but I would need to find the exact link. His mother was a
Harris. I do have some emails with some un-researched info. Maybe it will help you.
The following info was sent by Ira Harris:
Here's another analysis of this issue. If Morning Dizena Mansell's father,
William
Mansell was 1/2 Cherokee (his mother reportedly was named
MourningFlower), given that her mother Morning
Dove White was full-blood Cherokee,
then Morning Dizena
Mansell Palmer would be 3/4 Cherokee.
Then further, if there is no Indian-blood in the
Palmer side, the sons and
daughters of Dr. Russell
Porter Palmer would all be 3/8 Cherokee.
>
Mourning Dizena
Mansell Palmer was half Indian, her mother,
Mourning Dove> was pure Cherokee.
