Hi,

Trying to find out any additional information about Ira and Laura. I have the following paragraph from a book titled "Prominent People of the Maritimes" published in 1922:

"Rev. Ira Dwight Lyttle, Minister. Born New Brunswick, July 3 1877, sone of J. A. and E. Matilda Lyttle. Married Laura M. Millett, sept. 16, 1903. Educated Acadia Academy and Colgate University. Held various pastorates throughout Maritime Provinces; has been engaged for some years in literary work. Baptist. Address, Clements Port, NS."

Ira would have been born in Queens County, New Brunswick (one of 6 boys). I think he also had another brother, James Robert, who also moved to Nova Scotia at a young age.

The Clementsvale Cemetary have a Laura M Lyttle listed - http://www.rootsweb.com/~nsannapo/cemeteries/clementsvale.ht.... Have a feeling she was probably Ira's wife. Did they have children?

Trying to find any additional info on Ira and his wife Laura.

Regards,
Jerry

You are right about Laura, she passed away in late 1920s or early 1930s. Ira then married Rena Maude Brown of Forties Settlement, NS in 1932. There were no children in his first marriage and a daughter (adopted) in his second. His second wife died March 29, 1945 in Chester Basin NS. He passed away a few years later and the daughter, Elizabeth Joyce, was raised by Rena's brother, George and his wife.

Hi David,

I guess this must have went full circle - I just received an email from Leota (she had been in contact with you yesterday).

Regards,
Jerry
