I am trying to find death certificates or other information for my second great grandparents. Both were living in Checotah at the time of their deaths. My second great grandmother was a citizen of the Creek Nation and died in January 1904 or 1905. My second great grandfather was a non-citizen but living in the Creek Nation. He died in 1907. It is my understanding that the State of Oklahoma would not have death certificates since they died before Oklahoma became a state, but it may be possible there are tribal records? Where can I look or who can I contact? Any and all help appreciated! Thank you.

Did your 2ggmother get a land allotment from the Dawes Commission? If so, then there may be something that shows the transfer of the property. If her children got allotments, these too may show death dates.
If you let me know the names of your 2ggpa and 2ggma and their children, I have access to some records. Are you an enrolled tribe member?
