Jula immigrated her from Croatia, but on one document it says Sibig, Austria with her husband Ivan (JOHN) Fonduk sometimes spelled Fundak, Fondok. The papers show that she was 20 years old in 1913 when the ship docked in New York. She was last recorded being in Mingo,WV September 29th 1918. Then nothing until 1920 where the husband and his brothers are found in the 1920 Pike ville, Kentucky census but she was not mentioned living with them. She has never been mentioned again. Can someone please help me out here.
Thank you so much.

Have you checked in the last area you found her living for a death certificate?

Have you found her husband in the 1930 Census? Single, Married, Widowed? In the 1920 Census, how is he listed?

Did the couple have any children? If so, list them by name, their birth years and place of birth.

I looked in Pike ville death records and did not find her. John Fonduk went on to marry a Dora Mullins, she committed suicide in 1943in (although I have some doubts about that)in Earling, WV.

My maternal grandmother's great grandmother was named Eufemia Fondok, wife of Paulisan Nicolae. They lived in Arad, Hungary, today in Romania. They were both of Greek Orthodox faith, of Romanian nationality and language. I've discovered the marriage record of my maternal grandmother's parents recently and this is how the name Fondok came to be known to me. Before I just had the first name Eufimia, but not her last name.

Here's the West Virginia Vital Records database:

http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx

I did not find Jula in it, but I found a Louis/Louie, a Darrell, a Dora and a John Fond*/Fund*(use wildcards since their names are spelled various ways) in the marriage and death databases.

You can see scans of the original records here, not just index listings. Something nice to have....
