Reason LOVELACE and Benjamen LOVELACE Jr. were on the 1776 Census of Frederick Co., MD. There is reason (pardon the pun) for me to believe that one of them may have been the father of my maternal ggg-grandmother, (Anna) Mariah LOVELACE, born in VA in 1801 and died in Savanna, MO, in 1862. She married Henry W. BAYNE in 1829 at Bullit Co., KY. He was a son of Thomas BAYNE (1755-1822) born in MD; and a grandson of Ebsworth BAYNE, also born in MD.

Thomas BAYNE is said to have been a brother of Henry Holland BAYNE, who married Sophia DUVAL and later on, Susanna FORSTER, both marriages performed in Nelson Co., KY.

As you know, the LOVELACES were among the first to settle in MD, as were the BAYNEs. An early BAYNE ancestor was in the ship ARK AND DOVE when it landed in MD. Alternate spellings of the BAYNE surname include BEAN and BEANE.

I am especially interested in finding records of marriages between the BAYNE and LOVELACE families. I gladlly share family information. Thank you for reading my query.

My ancestor Vachel LOVELACE, son of John Baptist LOVELACE FROM FREDERICK CO., MARYLAND. Looking for info on Vachel, his wife and their children.

My Grandfather Edward F. Bayne was born in Cheltenham MD and his father was Richard Hugh Bayne who married Mary Lovelace. Any relation?

I too am decested from John Baptist Lovelace, but thought his son Isaac. I have Vachel's wife as Margaret and 8 children. Also I have a copy of John Baptist's Will.

I too am decended from John Baptist Lovelace...his son Elias...his son Andrew Sr....his son William H...his daughter Cynthia Ann.
Now, William H. married a Malinda Lovelace. I have been told they were about 3rd cousins.
Cynthia Ann married Mathew Freeman Senter and their daughter Hettie Lovelace Senter married Franklin Ellis Ford. Hettie and Franklin where my great grandparents.
I keep looking at your postings and it has been a joy to watch this part of my family unfold!

John Baptist Lovelace's son Vachel married Margaret "Peggy" Adams, daughter of Walter Adams on 28 Jul 1778 Rowan Co., NC. I have a copy of the will of John Baptist Lovelace. I am descended from their daughter Elizabeth Lovelace. Elizabeth married Larkin Edwards and I am descended through their daughter Emily Jane Edwards. I have not been able to find a copy of Elizabeth Lovelace and Larkin Edwards marriage. Since Emily Jane was born in 1808, I am assuming it was before then. I think they either married in Robertson Co, Tn. or in Kentucky. Any information you could furnish would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. Henry Bayne was the name of my grandmother's uncle. Her grandfather, Walter D. Bayne had lived in Kentucky prior to going to
Shelby County, Tenn. and later Arkansas right after the Civil War in 1869.
