According to W.M. McKnight's 1917 book on
Jefferson County, Peter
Motter (a tailor living in Red Bank) and his wife, Sarah (
Steele)
Motter had a total of sixteen children. McKnight mostly just names the children that were still living in 1917, and there was no mention of a Samuel. There IS mention of twin sisters, Carrie (d. 1915) and Emiline, as well as William, Wesley, George, Sarah, and Ellen. Let me know if this sounds like a possible match.
