I don't have a Josefa but there was a son Joseph - see obit and other below. I have your Lucelia as Felicia in my files but she only appears in the 1910 census and no other.

Oh,thank you ! That's the brother and wondered why his name was spelled differently ...I can't wait to hit the Dunkirk library again as we live out of town and are in the process of moving back to the Buffalo/Dunkirk area.Which other libraries do you recommend in Dunkirk/Fredonia area ?

When I'm in town, I spend most of my time at the Reed Library on the SUNY Fredonia campus. They have an excellent microfilm collection of census and newspapers. They also have the series "Genealogical Information in the Dunkirk Observer" produced by the Chau Co Genealogical Society. You'll need to bring coins to feed the parking meters and to print hardcopies.

The library also has a special collections room with city directories, some yearbooks, local military documents, some church records on microfilm (st hyacinth's), local histories. The room has weird hours so need to check their website (see links at www.fredonia.edu).

I also spend alot of time at the CCGS offices located in the museum adjacent to the Fredonia Public Library.

I also visit the Buffalo Public Library. The Western NY Genealogical Society operates a collection there which is extensive. They have volunteers on hand.

Thanks, when we move back in Aug.,I'll check these out.I've gone to the LDS(Latter Day saints) here a few times. They have some info, but they also have a more extensive site on their family search that you can only get on to if you're a member, which I am not. There is supposed to be a LDS church in Williamsville ,I think,or in Amherst .I'll check out the Buffalo library first !
I wonder if St. Hedwig's and St. Mary's cemeteries will ever have a website. It would be helpful.
Anyway, thank you for all your help, now I can start doing the "other side" of the tree..Zielinski,which will be easier !

St Mary's has been indexed and is available in book form by the CCSG. I have a copy if you have specific names. St Hyacinth's is online and there are several Braciszewski's there.

I did a read of small portion St Hedwig's a few years ago. No Braciszewski's in that section. The church was nice about visiting their office and checking marriages and cemetery burials. I don't know what their status is these days. I know they were targeted for shut down.

I have some Zielinski's in my files too. The Poles who lived in the 4th ward (along roberts road) are mostly from the same region of poland and intermarried alot. I've been slowly collecting data on quite a few families.
