Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to help me with something. My maternal grandfather was killed in an auto accident in 1984 in Trigg county on I-24. I would love to more info on this accident, but don't really know where to start. Thanks so much!

You were told on another board 2 days ago:
"Provide his full name, when and where he was born, name of spouse, when and where they were married, children's names, and any other details you have. Someone will be able to point you in the right direction so that you can obtain a death certificate and possibly a newspaper article and other info."

All you did was re-post the same vague request. If you really want help, post what you know regarding the above items.

Excuse me, I thought I had found the proper board! I won't bother anyone about this anymore!

You are on the right board, but if you want people to help you more specifically, give your grandfather's name.
You can search the Kentucky death index here
http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ky/death/search.cgi

Then you can post the exact date of his death. Or, you can request his death certificate from the state, which should give you location and cause of death.
For news accounts, you can contact the local public library for that town, and ask if they will do a lookup of his obit or account of the accident- his exact death date will be necessary for that.

Surnames: Seavers
According to newspaper articles Jack Seavers was struck from behind by a "tractor-trailer rig" and his car exploded. The truck driver was killed as well. This happened at 1:15 pm (July 30, 1984.)

Mr. Seavers was part of a road-striping crew at the time. Authorities weren't sure what caused the accident but skid marks indicated that the truck driver did not apply the brakes until after the impact. The truck then overturned and caught fire.

They believe Mr. Seavers was killed instantly.

Note: The other posters are right, however. When asking for genealogical help you should provide as much info as possible. I had some extra time to try to figure out your question, but you should try to make it as easy as possible to find info, not harder. :) All questions should have names, dates, and locations, if possible.
