Hi all: I've been working on King Hiram C. Preston who lived at Manlius, Onondaga County, New York; married Louisa Phillips. They had 7 children: Ella (m. Myron J. Wheeler), W. M./Melvin Preston, Marion Preston (m. Erastus Upham), Calista Preston (m. Dr. George R. Kinne), Charles H. Preston, Albert C. Preston and Grace M. Preston.
I've collected information about his ancestors and have some research about his life and his family.
Would so enjoy hearing from others related to him or descended of him. --GJ

I'm not related but have also done some research on this family and have put them on findagrave.com. Any additions for corrections to what I put out there would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there!

TYTY.
"... He leaves a wife, three sons and four daughters, all grown to manhood and womanhood." *

Love it when research notes fall in place!

I suspect the as yet to be further identified children are then, Charles H. Preston, Albert C. Preston, and Grace (Preston) White.

There is an as yet connected/confirmed Charles H. Preston buried at Oakwood, dec'd June 30, 1919 (Syracuse Journal, 1 July 1919); obit reported he died at home of his dau., Mrs. H. G. Lonsdale.

Grace Preston White, (sp. is George White) has ben hard for me to trace. In addition to a small notice about the pending marriage in a Syracuse paper, she is listed in the obit of her mother (1894) as Mrs. George O. White

...Mrs. Preston was a native of Manlius
and the mother of a large family of
grown children who are Mrs. Myron
J. Wheeler, Mrs. George R. Kinne,
Mrs. George O. White, Charles H.
Preston, and Albert C. Preston of Syra-
cuse, Mrs. Erastus S. Upham of Duluth,
Minn., and Melvin Preston of Cleve-
land, Ohio."
The Evening Herald: Syracuse / Saturday, April 21, 1894

Again, TYTY.

Hi there again,

You are doing such marvelous work. Might I inquire if you are a angel of mercy or if there is a tangental relationship?

BTW, I have written a bit about H. C. Preston's father as part of a genealogy case. For a long time, we called the father, "William Preston - The Other."
Here are the links:
(1) First Article, about Identifying William C. Preston
http://theycamebefore.blogspot.com/2011/06/sheriff-william-p...
(2) Second Article, in which we relate these fine folks to our line:
"Wait--Vermont Families in 1791 is the same work we used to help determine William C. Preston, the other (1797-1869), of St. Joseph, Williams County, Ohio, was not the son of Sheriff William. See the article, 2.06 You do the math. According to the Vermont Families genealogy, William and Elizabeth's son William Preston (b. 1780) and William C. Preston (1797-1869) were first cousins."

Thanks for the stuff you sent and the nice response. I am not related - just fell into the research, I guess... Good news is that I found the youngest daughter of King H. C. Preston and Lillian Phillips Preston - Grace May Preston White and her husband George O. White - found them on findagrave.com in the Woodmere Cemetery (Huntington, West Virginia). I have asked the owner to hook them into the family. Also in there is George and Grace's daughter Marian White (and Marian's husband Clarence Earl Edler). Hopefully the person will listen and hook them in - I will let you know when (and if) they link them. If not, then I'll send you what I have about them.... There is a website - wvculture.org - they have West Virginia death certs there (that's where I found George and Grace and Marian and Clarence). send me your email if it would be easier.....

I'll keep my fingers crossed on the Find A Grave link; have sent a note via Ancestry connect.

Amazing that you connected the Whites, too! --GJ
