Shipman, who died when my grandmother was a young child of cancer. She had 2 brothers, Harry and
Chauncey. Harry died in 1983 in Chicago,
Illinois and
Chauncey died after coming back from the war. My mother Dorothy Mae, has alot of information regarding the Higbees, she was an only child. She is now 84. I may be going to see her this summer and I can find out more information then. My mother named me Julia (Mae) after Julia
Higbee and I actually have a ring that did belong to Julia
Higbee which my grandmother gave me when I was 13 before she died. I know she had alot of books, pictures, furniture, jewelry and political medals from what she always called the
Higbee Mansion from when Harry and
Chauncey Lawson were judges in Pittsfield, Ill. I will see what information I can get, my mom does not have her memory now, though she has alot of documentation.
