The Cate tombstones at Oak Knoll include:
Wallace W., b. 27 May 1834, d. 5 Apr 1913 [Beulah Station, Walworth Co., WI]
Royal P. [s/o Isaac & Betsey], b. 17 Aug. 1842, d. 20 May 1912
Isaac, b. 1791, d. 26 Jan 1874, age 82
Betsey [Hadley], w/o Isaac, b. 1800, d. 22 Feb 1867, age 66

I had made a note about Alden G.'s death being Jan 1906. Let me check this week to see if this was from an obit or headstone. At this point I have nothing on Mary Payne Cate.

If you're interested there are several Payne's at Oak Knoll.

Also, both W.W. and Royal Cate are listed in the 1890 Gazetteer.

This comes from the "Waukesha Freeman", published 1 Jan 1906; Page 8, column 4.
Alden G. Cate
At his home in Appleton on New Year's day occurred the death of Alden G. Cate aged 79 years. He was born in New York, came to Wisconsin in 1849 and lived in Mukwonago until 1869 when he went to Colorado and enlisted in the army from that state. He has resided in Appleton twenty five years. He leaves his wife, two daughters, three brothers and a sister.

You might try the Appleton paper, it may have a more detailed obit.

I have found nothing, even hinting, about his being buried at Oak Knoll. Also, there is no obit for his wife, Mary.
