My Dad is that age. Why? That name is very common in the Southwest.

This Robert Barron would have been living in Southern California in 1967-1968. Does that fit? Thanks for your help.

Hispanic/Mexican Barrons in Texas

I have Hispanic Barrons in my family. I hit a brick wall with Santos Barron (born in the 1870's). But I not sure where he is from. Oral family history has him being born in Talyor (Williamson Co.) TX. His father, Phelip and mother, Florentina. I have found no prove of his place of birth or where his parents came from other than Mexico.

Where in Durango Mexico???

Durango is a big state in Mexico. My family is from Santa Maria Durago Mexico. Does that ring any bells?

You will not even beleive it if I told you. My father was born in Santa Maria del Oro in 1951. His name is Gilberto Barron. His father was Juan Barron. I know the similarities are eerie that we HAVE to be related. Any other information you can provide me with? I also notice you are in AZ. I live in Phx.

BARRON in Texas?

Mary Helen Gomez  (View posts) Posted: 27 Apr 2001 3:57PM GMT
I am not sure whether they were in Texas, or if they even came across the border, although,I am sure that one of their sons made it across the border. My great-grandparents were Candido Almazan & Dorotea BARRON (it is believed they hailed from General Tehran(Theran?)Nuevo Leon. Their sons were Pedro Almazan, Antonio(?)Almazan & Camilo (AKA Emilio)Almazan(my grandfather on my mothers side). Grandfather, Camilo Almazan married Cruz Contreras (my mothers mom). My entire family hails from the valley, Weslaco/Donna/Pharr/SanJuan/Alamo, TX. We don't know anything else about the BARRON family, would really to make some contact, it would really enhance my family tree that I have been researching for some years now.

I'm not sure where my great-grandfather's (Santos Barron) parents where from in Mexico. I do know that Santos' son, Adolfo "Adolph" Barron (born in Bastrop, TX in the early 1900's) moved back to Saltillo in the 1980's. He passed away a couple of years after moving to Saltillo and is buried somewhere in Saltillo. I am not sure why he moved to Saltillo. Possible family ties??? I'm not sure.

The last place I can trace this part of the family to is Bastrop, Austin, and Houston, TX.

I can tell you more about Santos' family if you like. Please email me at patperez@texas.net

Thanks.
