Whitehair's from West Virginia

Carol S  (View posts) Posted: 17 Jan 2000 8:33AM GMT
Any information on any Whitehairs from West Virginia would be appreciated. I've come up against a brick wall trying to find out about my grandmother Mary Virginia Whitehair. She married Charles Mason Wolfe. They were born in the 1870's, thanking you in advance.

Interested in any Whitehair History

My maiden name was Whitehair and I am from Pennsboro W.V. I am looking for any history linked to the Inez Whitehair family. Thank you for your time and help.

My grandmother was Mary Virginia Whitehair. She was born in West Virginia in the 1870's, I'm not sure of the place of birth. She had a sister that I can remember. Maybe this was your relation....

My grandmother's maiden name was Bennett and her mother's name was Susie Bennett. That is as far back as I can trace. My grandmother married James (Oliver) Whitehair. That is all the information I have about the family history on my fathers side.

Your relatives might be the ones I am looking for....All I can tell you is my grandmother was Mary Virginia Whitehair and I think she was from around the Flemington area. She was born in the 1870's.....I don't have any idea what her dad mother's name was. I do know she had a sister but I don't remember what her married name would be. Maybe some of you're relatives are linked with mine. I've been trying to find some of them for years. I was told she was Indian but haven't found that to be true.

Well thats what I've been told to. That's my reason for searching. I was told that our great, great grandmother was a pure indian but of what origin I am not sure. I hope we find out someday.

Whitehair......

Well maybe we are related......are any of the Whitehairs your searching for have a birthday you can get back to the 1870's. If so maybe this is a match....My grandmother married a Wolfe.....I was told she was Cherokee and we will probably have to go thru the Indian Bureau to find out if she had a roll #.....so keep in touch.....maybe this may be the break we've been looking for

OMG I think we are related because I remember something about a Mary Wolfe although I'm not sure. Anyway she was suppose to be a twin Cherokee indian. Thats where the twins came in on our family line. I have twins too.
