The Last Will and
Testament of
Nicoll halsey of
Ulysses in the county of
Tompkins and state of
New York.
I, Nicoll
Halsey being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my Last Will and
Testament in manner and form following that is to say:
I give, devise and bequeath all my estate which I may leave at my decease to my sons Robert, William, Henry, and Warren and to my daughters
Hannah, Margaret and Emma to be equally divided between them, share and share alike; and in case of the death of any of my said sons or daughters before coming to his or her share, then I give the share of such decedents to his or her heirs or assigns.
The reason that I have omitted to name my dear wife Euphius, first and foremost in this my will is, that I have in another manner provided her a support, which is mutually satisfactory to her and to myself, and at present is deemed amply sufficient, but if by any unforseen events the provision which I have made for my said wife, should prove insufficient for the purpose, then and in that case, I hereby make her competent, and comfortable support a charge upon my whole estate; and I need not charge our dear children to do what I know their filial affections will prompt them to, render their mother as happy and comfortable as possible, and I do hereby appoint my said sons Robert, William, Henry and Warren Executors of this my Last Will and
Testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of May 1855.
