I have her obituary here with me, along with her husband Albin's obituary. I'm having problems with my scanner so I will post their obituaries and some index cards from the library when it's working again. For now I will type it:
Emma C. Carlson
(Keith & Keith Funeral Home)
Mrs. Emma C. Carlson, 84, of
Route 5, Box 273, died Thursday in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 3, 1895, in Ivanhoe, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. August Lovestrand. She was raised and educated there. On Oct. 16, 1910, she moved with her family to Yakima. She married
Albin F. Carlson in December 1916. Mrs. Carlson was a member of
Wiley Heights Covenant Church and The Covenant Women.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin (Bob)
Carlson and Russell
Carlson, both of Yakima; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Kelly of Yakima; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Lee of Longmont,
Colo., and Mrs. Olga
Lawrie of Yakima; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband died Jan. 26, 1974.
The index cards I have are a bit confusing, but from what I can gather, Emma's father August Lovestrand was born Sept. 12, 1863 in Sweden and died Dec. 29, 1923 in Yakima, buried in the Tahoma Cemetery. It states that August is the son of 'David
Donaldson', who was born in Sweden and 'Christina Lovestrand', who was also born in Sweden.
I'll call
Shaw &
Sons Funeral Home, which is who took care of the arrangements for August Lovestrand and see if I can't sort out these other names on the index. The index has the names
Nannie, Mary Louise, and
Fritz J. Lovestrand, but does not say how they are related to August. Do you know who these people are?
Nannie was born Oct. 26, 1856 and died Feb. 14, 1913.
Mary Louise was born Dec. 27, 1861 and died Oct. 14, 1948.
Fritz J. died Sept. 1, 1947, age 48.
All of them were also buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.
