Hi Ron,
I found this family in 1900 in Yakima,
Yakima Co., WA.
W. von
Niederhauser, b. Switzerland May 1855, marr 16 yrs, immigrated 1880, upholsterer.
Mary, wife, b. Switzerland Oct 1864, immigrated 1883, no children.
Fred, adopted son, b. WA Sept 1893.
I searched in
www.ancestry.com, FamilySearch,
http://pilot.familysearch.org/ and
Washington Digital Archives,
www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/ but didn't find anything else on them. FamilySearch and
Washington Digital Archives are being built by volunteers but not completed yet.
I think there are two hypothesis for this family. One is that the parents or maybe all three died in
Yakima County before 1907. In 1907 the State required all counties to keep copies of birth, marriage and death certs.
If that is the case, their death info will be on file with
Yakima Co. You can contact the
Yakima County Auditors Office, 509-574-1160 and ask them.
If they died 1907 to 1980 contact the WA State Center for Health Statistics, 360-236-4300.
If Fred died 1980 or later, contact the
Yakima County Health District, 509-575-4040 or 800-353-5016.
The other hypothessis is that they moved out of state.
Another source of information is the Yakima Valley Genealogical Society,
www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wayvgs/ . They do research for a fee. Successful Searching!
