Looking for descendants of WILLIAM H. TAYLOR, b. December 5, 1841 in Jackson Co., the son of Harbert TAYLOR (Jr.), b. ca. 1780-1790, and his 2nd wife Harriet McDANIEL. Harbert and Harriet married ca 1835, and they had one son, William. He was very young when both his father and mother died a few months apart in 1839. His maternal grandparents may have been Silas & Polly McDaniel, and his guardian for several years was Capt. Benjamin Wynns. William H. Taylor m. 9-27-1855 Jackson Co. to (1) Sarah Ann DUNCAN, b. ca 1837 GA. They had known children: Harriet, James Henry, Parile & Sallie A. William's second marriage was on 2-22-1869 Jackson Co. to (2) Jane MILLER, b. ca 1836 FL. William & Jane's known children were Green & Franklin Taylor. Allegedly, William married a third time on 11-24-1881 Jackson Co. to Mary Elise GAMMON, b. 6-6-1861. William & Mary's known children all died fairly young: Blanche Elise, Henrietta E., Mary Lucille & W. Malcolm. I have much more on the Taylor Family, but have never located a descendant of William H. Taylor. If you are his relative, please contact me. William H. had several half brothers & sisters, and several went west into AL, LA, and TX. I descend from his oldest half-brother, Lewis B. Taylor. E-mail me, or write to PO Box 1624, Tulsa, OK 74101-1624.

Taylor

Don't know if you ever heard from anyone, but I just found this site. My grandfather was Green Taylor from Jackson County, Florida. I am Sheryll Rebecca (Taylor) Hutson, now in Columbus, Georgia. My father was Romie Hasten Taylor, the youngest of Joseph Green and Molly Rebecca Taylor's children (Daddy died in 1994). I work with an attorney who, as we recently discovered, are related through William Harbert Taylor. He is from the first marriage and my family through the second (and we thought, the last) marriage. If you get this and are interested, I have scanned in a large portrait of my grandparents that I can e-mail to you.

My family is as follows:
My 5th great grandfather is Harbert Taylor (1750) and his son Habert is my 4th great grandfather. I have been unable to get back past the Taylors in 1750, If you have any information on the 1750 Harbert, please let me know. My family line is as follows:
1750-1786 Harbert m. Jane Manly
Habert (Harbert) 1785-1839 m. Mary Eliz. Holland
Green Taylor Sr 1824-1904 m. Elizabeth Holland
Green Taylor Jr. 1852-1898 m. Mary Mumford Taylor, 2nd Rebecca Brazil Caskey Holland (my great grandmother)
Thomas Harbard Taylor 1885-1939 m. Mary Tennessee Cummings (my grandparents on mother's side)
These Taylors have lived in Bienville Parish at least since the 1850s.
They did visit and stay back and forth in Texas with the Taylors, Green Sr. sent Green Jr. to help his Uncle James' widow (Mary Mumford) after he died, Green Jr. ended up marrying her and they had two children together, she died when the children were babies and Green Jr. returned to Arcadia, LA and married Rebecca Brazil Caskey (m. Allen Holland who died, leaving her with twins), then Rebacca and Green Jr. had three children, the oldest Thomas Harbard Taylor is my grandfather. If the scanned photo you have is of a grandparent we have in common, I would appreciate a copy. My email is: pjsmonroe@gmail.com
