I am researching Wilson Brown,s.o. Lewis and Jemima Brown went to Gibson Co.,TN from Hertford Co.,NC abt 1810 with recently widowed children,Martha,Betsy,William Newbern,Calvin. Believe property in Gibson Co. belonged to Lewis Brown via Grant or Pension. Wilson signed guardianship of above children(his) aand this doc was signed by Davey Crockett,Clerk/Agent and others. Wilson was next door neighbor of D. Crockett on Albion(sp) River. Wilson remarried Ruth Parmalee Shelton(or vice versa) and had other issues. This family moved to IL. My relative Wm. Newburn Brown married Lucy Ann Hubbard of Montgomery Co., TN and also moved to IL. Any info appreciated,esp. on Jemima,m.o. Wilson and other issues.

Tennessee State Marriages has a marriage of Wilson Brown to Dolly Glasscock 18 Nov 1828 in Gibson Co TN.

This is some 5 Months after the June 1828 court record of Gibson Co TN wherein Wilson Brown is made guardian to his 4 children in a matter relating to a legacy to his children from their grandparents Lewis and Jemima Brown.

Can anyone be sure if Lewis and Jemima are the parents of Lewis Brown, or were they parents of Wilson Brown's deceased first wife? I'm just curious, due to the wording of the court record. I'd like to know more about this family
