John (Canteloe)Merritt and Charlotte Isabella Modder Married in Columbo, Ceylon abt 1890's

John was born in England and Charlotte was born in Scotland, I am not sure how they arrived seperately in Ceylon. I assume it was for work as servants.

There i was trawling the net looking for links to famillies and bingo, there you are with my great grandparents!!. I am the grandson of Nellies brother Alex who was also born Trincomalee Ceylon. 3rd Dec 1899 along with his twin brother John (a,k,a, Jack)I have both of Nellies marriage certs, plus details of her first child Isabella Stella, her two marriages (which have interesting storylines and her death cert in 1918.
