Hi,I have a lot of info on Henry his army career and family but still don't know who his parents were pre 1800 is difficult,neither do I have detail of his marriage to Maria. One of thier children Maria who had been widowed married Francis Codd Morphew Twice once as A widow and once as a spinster,I have too much info on the Morphews to put briefly .Where do you connect up ? My connection is through my fathers family Moore.His grandfather Thomas Warton Moore married two of Codd Morphews daughters Marie Adel who died leaving three children he then marrierd Henrietta she had one child he then ran off with a third daughter Caroline who had two sons one being my grandfather.There were a lot of Morphew offspring one went to America two died as young adults . Francis Codd Morphew as you may know was an often bankrupt Merchant with South American connections.His father Joseph Morphew was a very interesting character a privateer with his own ship sailing out of Falmouth during the war with Napoleon.

Hi thanks for that information, I didn't know about Francis Codd and his father, that's great information, always interesting when you get info that helps understand a bit about the lives of these people in our past. My connection is also through the Moores side. My Mother was a Moore, her father was Clifford Moor b 1898, grand father Thomas edward b1867 Portsmouth G grandfather Thomas Wharton. so we are probably quite closely related. I assume you have lots about the Moore side back to John Percy Moore the surgeon and his father John b in Woolwich Kent as it was then, London as it is now.

Hi,So your Gt Grandfather wasThomas Warton Moores first child with Marie /Adele, Thomas Edward Joseph Raphael Moore who was with the Trinity Lightships on the Thames estuary? I have traced his sister aIso Marie Adele to California she married her cousin Edward Fulwood Moore(he was the son of Robert Pendarvies Moore John Percys second son)Their brother Francis Joseph also emigrated to California he had two children there.I have always thought there may be a fourth child as Marie /Adele I suspect from her death cert died as a result of child birth.
Do you know about Thomas Wartons other families ?His son with Henrietta,
John Francis was another emigrant to California where he raised a family .His mother did not die till 1913 .While Caroline the sister Thomas went out to Hong Kong with in 1880 but did not marry lived till 1911.There was somthing very odd you might say a cover up as these children were my fathers uncles and aunts and he to my Knowledge never Knew they existed . Clifford and his many siblings would have been his cousins. Henrietta seemed to be totally neglected while Caroline appointed herself Thomas Wartons Widow after his death in Hong Kong in 1881.My grandfather was born on the ship out and his brother shortly after her return in1881.
Do you know about John Percys brothers and sister? And about the siblings of Thomas Warton Moore? I'm going away for a couple of weeks on Tuesday so am dashing around getting things sorted so sorry if this sounds a bit garbled .Good to hear from you Rosemary
