Denius/Dinius in Snyder/Union Counties

I'm looking for information on Jacob and Mary Denius (or Dnius) who I believe to be my 4g-grandparents. Mary is buried in the Globe Mills Cemetery in Snyder County (Dec. 15, 1783-Dec, 17, 1871. Her tombstone says she is the wife of Jacob (b. abt 1783).

I found Mary in the 1860 census in Union County, PA. Living with her are Hannah, 32 and Sarah, 28. I can find nothing else on Mary or her husband before that.

In 2002, I found land records at the Union County Courthouse. They were:

--- Michael Denious (my grandfather) had a land quit claim to a Henry Denious in 1820; Henry and Jacob Denius gave land to Michael Denius in 1826; John Denius granted land to Michael in 1826, as did John Denius, Therody (?) Denius, and Philip Denius

I believe that Henry was the brother of Jacob. Henry was born about 1780 according to the 1850 census (he was in Union County, Pennsylvania.)

Does anyone have any information about Jacob and/or his wife Mary or Henry?

Hello - I also have Jacob and Henry as possible brothers in my family notes. Nor could I find any reference to Mary in the 1850 census. Jacob died in 1842, and there is a will at the Union County CH in Lewisburg. An Ancestry family tree lists a full death date for Jacob as March 6, 1842, and that possibly he is also buried at New Berlin. The will indicates Jacob lived in Middle Creek Twp (now Snyder Co), and names his wife and seven children. His wife Maria/Mary, is buried at St. Paul's (Erdley's) church cemetery (not Globe Mills).
Henry and his wife are buried at New Berlin, and they are listed in the Wagenseller Tombstone book with the surname variation of Dinges. Jacob is not listed in this cemetery.
I do not have any information on their parentage.
Hope this helps clarify somewhat.

Stephen,

Thanks for the information. Would it be possible for you to transcribe the will and email it to me at wjdenius@gmail.com? If not, could you just give me the important information?(children's names, etc.)

I can't find any information on these folks before 1860. It's rather puzzling that there's no information. I've been stuck with Jacob and Henry for a few years now.

If I recall, we emailed several years ago and you sent me what information you had. Good to reconnect again.

Best, William

William:
All I have actually are what I transcribed in the 1970's when I lived in the area. Since Snyder County was formed from Union in 1855, I focused on "earlier" wills listed in the townships that wound up in Snyder County. This is what I have for Jacob Dinius:

Jacob Dinius, Middle Creek twp, died 1842
wife - Maria
children - John, Catherine m. David Snyder, Michael, Mary m. David Breon, Rachel, Hannah, and Sarah.

Hope this helps - and again, this document was found at the courthouse in Lewisburg (not Middleburg).
Steve
