just to make all of you aware who carry this name with you. in case you did not know. our family unfortunately owned several slave plantations with african slaves who, when lincoln freed the slaves had been given our sir name so as not to stand out completely in america. if you are indeed a true Batts please contact me online via email. it would be nice to know that i actually do have some living relatives. thanks

Mr. Batts, I am a Batts who knows nothing about my family! I don't know where to begin, but I saw your entry on this site, and thought I would begin here. My email address is caviness5@bellsouth.net.....my father was Charles Arthur Batts from Boston. He had two brothers Richard and Paul. His mother's name was Dora Batts and his father's name was Edward Batts. Any guidance would be of great help to me. Thank you, Bonnie Batts Caviness

Hello. Are you by chance related to a white farmer John (Jack) Batts in or near Edgecombe County, NC? My grandma is a Batts. My g-g-g-g granddad Tuney and his wife Janey, were bought in VA, maybe Alexandria, and were given the name Batts. It was between 1845-1848. If you have any info, please let me know.

Hello - Do you have any information on John Batts? I believe a John Batts had children with my great-great grandmother, Nursey Batts. I found her as a slave owned by Jesse Batts in Duplin County.

Any information is appreciated.

Regards,
Kim McLeod
