George Jones was born about 1765, possibly in VA since his wife Eva was born there in 1765. He died in Claiborne Co. MS in 1833.In his will found in Claiborne Co.MS, his children include the following:

His property was in the corner of Claiborne County that formed a triangle with Jefferson and Copiah. Some of his sons went to these and other MS counties.
His son George W. Jones b. bef 1815, married Harriet M. Griffing, daughter of Robert Griffing and Elizabeth Shaw in Jefferson Co. MS on Oct. 11, 1835. This is my line.
