Lookup needed -- Michael and Gerardo Rubertone of Hammonton

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find the exact death date of my great-grandfather, Michael Rubertone (AKA Michael Ruberton), who died in 1959 in Hammonton, Atlantic County NJ. He was married to Frances Bohunovsky, who died in 1975. I have actually found their headstone in the cemetery in Hammonton, but it lists only the year, 1959. Can anyone please help with this?

Also, I would like to find out about his father, my great-great-grandfather, Gerardo Rubertone, who was born in Italy and lived in Hammonton until at least 1930 (he is on the census), but I don't know when he died. I couldn't find him in the cemetery in Hammonton, and I think he might be buried with his first wife Angela, who died soon after they arrived in the US, probably in Philadelphia (he remarried shortly after to an older woman called Maria). I would really like to find out where they are buried and when they died.

If anyone happens to know anything, or to be going to the archives any time soon, I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you very much!!

All the best,
Mark

You could try the Holy Cross Cemetery in Phila. PA. There are several Rubertone infants buried there.

Phla.PA Death Index to 1915
Mary Rubertone age 1yr. d. 4Feb 1891
fath. Gerrardo Rubertone
moth. Carmila

fem. Rubertone burried Sept. 2, 1902, age 1 day
res. 745 S. 10th st. Phila.PA
fath. Rubertone
moth. Maria
cem. Holy Cross

Phila.PA Marriage Index
1917
Michael Rubertone & Angelina Tierna

Most of my mothers family is in Holy Cross Cem. I have never been there but, spoke to women on the phone who was very helpful.
Since the online index only covers up to 1915,you would have to call the cemetery to found out if Gerardo was buried there.

good luck,
Bonnie

for Michael's death record you could write to Trenton

New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services
Bureau of Vital Statistics and Registration
P.O. Box 370
Trenton, NJ 08625-0370

Did you know that Frances was Michael's 2nd wife?

Hi Bonnie,

Thank you very much for your help! I called Holy Cross Cemetery and they didn't seem to have the Gerardo I'm looking for -- I think it's another branch of the family that lived in Philadelphia. I think maybe they were buried in another, smaller cemetery in Hammonton.

I do know about Frances, though I don't know much about what happened to them after Michael's first wife died. I will try writing to Trenton for records. Thanks again!

Mark
