Christina emigrated in 1895 on the ship Venetia. She may have been married to John G. Sahlberg, or he may have been her brother. On the ship with her were her two sons, Nils (SSDI Mar 4, 1894-Oct 28, 1990) and Eric (SSDI Aug 23 1892-Mar 13 1974). In 1920 Christina lived in Orlando, Orange Co., FL with her daughter Alice (SSDI May 2 1895-Aug 17 1976) and son-in-law Nicholas Belitz. Alice, Nils, and Eric all lived and died in Orange Co. FL, as did Nicholas Belitz. Am seeking anyone interested in this family, especially if you know who Christina's husband was. Please post your information here.

Thank you,
Sharyn Hay

I have found some information about a Johan Gabriel Sahlberg marrying a Kristina Bengtsdatter in 1892...I don't know if they are the John & Christina you are looking for. Johan's fathers name is Erik Sahlberg. Maybe they named their son after his grandfather.

I have no further information. In a previous message you mentioned a marriage that could be John and Christina. Could you please give the full information - full names, date, location, official, and where the information is located? Also, could you please give complete information (dates, locations, etc) about your SAHLBERGs in case others have information? Did any of these people emigrate to USA and if they did, when and where?

Regards,
Sharyn

Christina Sahlberg was my grandmother. I am the daughter of Nils. She indeed was married to John Sahlberg who was a haberdasher. She herself was an accomplished taylor in their store front in Mexico. Are you related?

John G Sahlberg & Family imigrated thru Ellis Island from Sweden and lived in New York City. Later moved to Mexico where John died from Typhoid Fever. The Sahlberg family then relocated to Orlando Florida around 1910. I believe
Alice Sahlberg Belitz was born in New York.
Sincerely,
Carol
