I am also researching the name Remnant My ggrandfather had a sister Fanny b. 1849 in Kirdford near Petworth. Several of the names you mentioned are also family names i.e. Percival, Reginald, Gertrude & Ernest. I am trying to trace an Edwin or Edward ( son of Frederick & Fanny Remnant) b. 1886.
