My great-great-great-grandfather was Zedock, born abt 1820 in western VA? May have had a brother John. They show up in Jackson Co. VA/WV in the mid1800s. Zedock had a large and apparently poor family.
There has got to be some documentation on this long line. Was a pioneer, roguish guy, involved in "The Frontiersman" by Allen Eckard, maybe named Jacob Greathouse. Any info would be appreciated.

My mothers maiden name was Greathouse, she was born in Bath Illinois, in 1911. She had 3 or 4 brothers, Joe, Jack ,Voyle are the names I remember. I don't know much about her family, her mothers name was Ora Edlin I believe, any information you have that would connect with my family I would appreciate.

I have in my line a James "Bud" Greathouse b. 1860 m. Rebecca "Becky" Cook in Kentucky they had four children Cristopher, Andrew, Mary, Hattie.

My husbands ggggrandfather was Solomon Greathouse B 1793 in Virginia married May 25 1821 to a Virgina Little b 1810 Virginia. Most Greathouse family members are from southern part of Ohio now. I hope this may help you. Pat
