Pamela, it looks like you have 2 areas you need to search. Is this one line or 2? In the old
Days the Sioux and the
Apache were not in the same areas, so that will make it confusing for you. If your grandfather were of these bloodlines, but a member of a tribe in CA, he was likely adopted, unless one of his parents were from that tribe. The easiest way to start is with yourself, then your parents and work back. The 1930 census is due out soon, I think next month, so start with it and look for your family. Follow it back to the next, 1920, then the next, 1910. Geronimo's band was POW's in what is now OK for 22 years, and for a time before, in
Florida, so this goes back to the 1870's The Chircauhua were not allowed to leave OK until after
Geronimo died, then some went to the Mescalero Reservation in NM. Others stayed and are known as the Ft. Sill
Apache. I would suggest starting with your family on the census and see where that leads you.
