I only have this info on the Riojas family. I have researched all the
records pertaining to Rumalda and Thomas and cannot find any further info
on her family. I remember her telling me of visiting her family in Mexico
and she traveled by train many times. She told me her family came from the
area of Piegras Niegras/N. Leon/Monterey and originated from Spain. She was
told stories of family in Spain. Her father had horses and sold to the
railroad and others and that is how she met Jesse Southworth and married.
They had several children who died young. She then traveled on her own to
Los Angeles and met and married Thomas E. Graden. I have his railroad
retirement papers and Rumalda does not give any info that will help in my
research. I do not speak the Spanish language and so have difficulty in
research. Because Rumalda was educated and spoke several languages and
traveled a great deal to Mexico, I am sure there must be some family info
around that I need to find. Rumalda talked and told of stories about early
days and family but I was so small and young that I don't remember today.

I am also a grandaughter of Rumalda. My father was, the second son of Rumalda and Jesse Southworth. I know of the stories you were told by our grandmother and have some of the pottery she brought back from mexico. Are you the daughter of Mable, my fathers half sister? If so I saw you and your brother when you were babies. Grandma and Gene were living in Corona, Calif. at that time. I saw her within a month or so before she died in that same house. Am looking for information on your Gonzalez Family. The
one am researching is Gonzalez Family of Aguascalientes
to Loreto, Villages of San Marcos , Villages of Rio Escondido,Villa de Fuentes, Piedras Negras to Uvalde Texas.
When the Gonzalez family members left the San Marcos/
Loreto area in the early 1900s,some of them moved to the
Village of Rio Escondido and Villa de fuente (near Piedras
Negras). This Gonzalez Family came to Texas through
Eagle Pass about 1911.
