Hello D
Haught I am Jeffrey Wayne
Haught. Son of Harold Henry
Haught. Grandson of
Homer Harold
Haught.
Dad's Mother was
Opal Gladys
Thompson Morris. Opal was my grandmother. She married Carl Morris and lived in the Northview section of Clarksburg.
AS I said I am Jeff
Haught and my Dad , Harold Henry
Haught died in 1971 of a massive heart attack.
Harold Henry
Haught had 1 brother Jack Edwin
Haught. Jack lived in Clarksburg during his young life and owned a small trailer park in Winter
Park,
Florida.
Jack Edwin
Haught was married at least twice. My
Uncle Jack died at age of 43 on the operating table. Doctor's were trying to do heart bypass surgery on Jack and he never made it through the surgery.
Our family was devastated. Jack married again to another Lady and her first name Maxine. Her family was from the
Grafton area. I can't remember Maxine's maiden name.
Maxine had a daughter Julie. Jack and Maxine had 1 son, Jackie Edwin
Haught Jr.
Maxine remarried a nice
Gentleman whose last name was
Parker and moved away from the beautiful Winter
Park,
Florida area. Winter
Park is right next to
Orlando.
Harold Henry
Haught, (Dad's Father) was
Homer Harold
Haught , I have little information on
Homer other than my what my Dad, Harold told me. He said his Dad,
Homer Harold
Haught, died in a train accident.
Homer worked for the B& O Railroad and died what I would call a horrible and very painful death. Homer was a brakeman for the railroad and got caught between 2 train cars . He lost his life trying to couple together 2 freight train cars. Homer was killed by the large couplers on the coal train railroad cars.
Homer was also an amateur prize fighter and fought under the name of "Dog
Haught".
Sounds a bit odd but it is what I was told. I was barely 5 or 6 years old when my Grandmother
Opal died.
Opal was a great cook and we enjoyed spending Sunday's after church eaing cherry pie. Opal had cherry tree's in her backyard and home canned her own. Our family were members of the United Brethren Evangelical Church in Northview, a sub-division of Clarksburg.
Carl Morris was my step Grandfather and Opal's second husband. Carl worked at the Hazel
Atlas Glass Factory in Northview for at least 45 to 50 years. Carl lost his eyesight and received a real
Blessing of a cornea transplant from the folks at the
Philadelphia Eye Bank. When that cornea failed they replaced the cornea in his other eye. Carl was diabetic and didn't watch his blood sugar close enough. Two people gave Carl the gift of eyesight.
He is the reason I am signed up as an organ donor.
My mother's name was Kathleen
Weber Haught. Our roots are in Central
West Virginia in the Fairview / Fairmont / Clarksburg area. Also Uniontown, PA.
I am Harold Henry Haught's second son from his second marriage. Would you like to hear more ?
