My mother's four grandparents (Horak, Lysakova, Zelenak and Tokar) emigrated from Czechoslovakia just over 100 years ago. The family corresponded until WWII and then lost touch. A cousin and I are traveling to the Czech Republic this summer to trace roots and are laying the groundwork in the meantime. Any general tips you can give on how to search effectively would be much appreciated.

Our info at this point is slim but we do have a couple of addresses in "Brumov". Google Maps produces "Brumov-Bylnice" and "Brumov". Specific tips on next steps to verify which of these might be correct?

Thanks in advance !

I would suggest sending letters to the ancestral town before your trip.

Brumov by Zlin, Brumov by Blansko; Brumov-Bylnice.
