Looking for information on the Rear family name in Chippewa County. My Great Grandmother was Ida Olivia Rear born Dec. 12, 1880. She married Christ Himley (Christenson). Any help would be much appriciated. I have a lot of information on the Himley, Christenson, Erickson Surnames

My greatgrandmother was Guri Rear who was born in 1861 in Wisconsin but married Gustave Laumb and lived in Mandt Township. I don't know if she is related to Ida Rear but if there is a connection, I would like to know more of the family history.

My great grandmother had a sister, Mrs. Hans Jerve, who lived at Big Bend. I would like to have a picture of her or one of Hans and Ingeborg. I believe one of their children married a Laumb. Do you have any information?

Reply to Carl J. Tweeton. Your great-grandmother, Mrs. Hans JERVE, is a sister-in-law of my greatgrandfather, Ole S. JERVE. I do not have any pictures of any of them. Sorry I can't help. I am looking for information on the REAR family; Guri REAR married Gustave Laumb. Their daughter was Laura Laumb who married Ole Jerve (above). If you run across anything, please let me know. My great grandmother was Sarah Rear Gilbertson, married to Jens Gilbertson. May have more for you.

I have a 1880 census that shows a Siri Rear (female age 20)
Here father was Haldor Rear and mother listed as Giri Rear.

Spelling is differant but maybe equivilant to Sarah.

I am still look for info your help would be great!

Greetings back. Siri (Sarah) Rear Gilbertson is my great grandmother, born 2-17-1859 in Wisc. Haldors Daughter. He was born in Norway 2-16-1814. More history past him also but am second sourcing to be sure. Appears to be some wrong and inconsistant info? Let me know what info you need. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the msg. It is possible that Siri is actually Guri. My greatgrandmother was born Dec 15 1861 in Wisconsin (no city) but her parents' names were Ole O Rear and Inger (no maiden name). Haldor Rear's name appears but I never see Ole Rear. Any other insight is appreciated. Takk

I have info which shows that Haldor and Guri had a son named Ole (brother to my great grandmother Sarah) who was married to Inga (Inger) and they had seven children, one girl was named Berthe, the others being boys. Would that be your great grandmother?

Takk for eposten. I am trying to get the generations straight. Because my great grandmother was born Dec 15, 1861, and your great grandmother was born Feb 17, 1859, they would be the same generation. But my greatgrandmother is the daughter of Ole. If he were Siri's brother, he would have been much older to have a daughter born 2 years after a sister.
