Surnames: Power, Quilty, Fitzgerald, Sullivan, Gorman
My Great, Great, Great Grandfather Jeffrey Power (born about 1780) and his brother Nicholas (born about 1782) settled Herring Cove after coming from Newfoundland (Power's Cove) about 1800-1803. In 1812 he purchased the Power Homestead (two lots) for the sum of 12 pounds. I have a void on info from 1800 till 1838. I also would like info on Nicholas and his linage.
Thanks for listening,
Kenneth Carl Patrick Power

That makes sence as I had a Jeffrey Jr. married to Jane Fitzgerald. The dates for Jeffrey were off. I just found a Jeffrey Power with a daughter Catherine baptized 8 Dec. 1829 but no mention of a wife. Let's keep digging. your theory could be right also.

During your research on the Powers line from Nova Scotia, have you come across a Clarence Vincent Powers? I have his birth date as Nov 6/1896 in Halifax. he was my grandfather and I am unable to find any information on him. A lot of his relatives were supposedly killied in the Halifax Explosion(1917?). Any information would be greatly appreciated.
