Can anyone help me find the parents of Hugh Vose born
1816 Rufford Lancashire who married Margaret Worthington Born 1816 Croston Lancs. I just cannot seem to trace the vose family tree back any further than this time period, have tried familysearch but no luck. Hugh was a Boatman on the canal in Ormskirk on the 1841 cencus.

My grandfather, John vose, was bron in St. Helen's, Lancashire, and married an alice Woosey. My father, william vose was one of their 6 living children. they emigrated to Toronto, Canada, in I think 1910. I would love any info on the vose family in Lancashire, and would like some contact with any relatives.

hi ya diane, you haven't come across a isaac vose or voce while researching your family tree have you? i have managed to trace him back birth 1778 ormskirk and his parents marriage he was married twice 1st about 1800 i can't find this marriage his 2nd was abt 1838 but it is his first i need look forward to your reply, thanks di voce

Havent come across Issac Voce/Vose as yet in my research but no doubt i will sometime in the future, was thinking of doing a One Name Study on Vose somewhere in the future so will look out for Issac.. Have you checked out the OPC for Lancashire
its a great site with many parish records for the area. I have been looking for Hugh Voses Birth/baptism in Rufford for an age but still no luck... Maybe he was born out of the area and moved to Rufford whilst still a baby, although tons of Voses are living in the Lancashire patch so maybe our men are related somehow!

Hi there

My vose family are all based around Ormskirk and Rufford in Lancashire before they move down to the Liverpool area for Work on the Docks. I will check to see if any of the later Vose clan moved to St Helens and see if any of your names are on my family tree...
