Bredin/Braiden

I am looking for information on my gg grandfather Samuel Braiden (may also be Bredin or Braden), born in Skeagh, Fermanagh, Ulster, Ireland (dates differ, 1826 or 1829). My records indicate that he married Margaret Jane Graham while still in Ireland. However I have recently obtained his obituary which says he was married in Wheeling, Ohio County, WV on May 2, 1855. I hope to verify this information.

In a related inquiry, Samuel's brother Edward was said to have settled in Wheeling, but I have nothing to document this. He was said to have become "prosperous" but never communicated with his family. He was also born in Ireland in Nov. of 1830.

Any information on either of these individuals would be greatly appreciated.

I have a rather extensive file on the James Braden family, who came from Inniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, Ireland in the 1770's. I have several Samuels, but no Edward. This family lived in the Washington/Beaver Falls area of PA, and spilled over into OH & WV, intermarrying with the Goodrich family and he John Henry Hall family of Wheeling, WV. In other words, look out for them so they won't mislead you.

Do you have any info on the ancestors of James Braden? My James had a son named Ezekiel born in 1828 in Green Co., Pennsylvania. He had a son named Jesse born in either Illinois or WV (depending on which census record you believe as the info seems to alternate with each census). I have hit a brick wall with James. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking for Mary Braiden, in Ireland. I think she could be from Fermanagh. Do you know if your Samuel and Edward have a sister named Mary born ca 1833? Please contact me at Squirllady@aol.com
