George Bird born about 1820 Devon son of Samuel and Mary married Ellen Mallavey 1840 Guernsey.
George had the following siblings
Mary, Samuel, William Warren,Charles and Elizabeth.
George nad Ellen had 14 children.
Also interested in anyone related to or has information on
Emmanuel Trump born about 1813 Bettiscombe Dorset married Rachel De Garis on Guernsey They had 7 children.
I think both these families had connections with both Guernsey and Jersey.

We are currently tracing our family link with the Bird Family in Guernsey although the family appears associated with Jersey also. Specifically, we are looking at the family history of Harold Frank Bird (b. 1889/90 in St. Helier Guernsey).

The International Genealogical Index shows the birth of William Warren Bird in Devon. He may be the first to settle
in the Channel Islands but we are not sure as yet. He married
Susan Le Tissier (both in the 1881 Census).

The historical directories of the University of Leicester (find these through GENUKI or the University website) have references to Birds in Devon including William Warren Bird.

I don't think this is my Mary as mine seems to have had a colourful past she was pregnant as a teenager and gave birth to my great great grandfather his fathers's name was Rogers in Newark Notts in 1832/3 she then had another son by a guy called Clark and yet another son by a chap called Cobb who she subsequently married.I suspect she was sent away from Guernsey and probably never spoken of .I did stumble across the fact that Guernsey was garrisoned by soldiers from Nottinghamshire at one point so maybe the link is there.Anyway thanks for your reply should you find my Mary in any of your research let me Know
