OWENS was born in Pope County ,
Arkansas , November 17, 1855 and died June 18, 1935.

He married Maggie Kyle. Maggie was born in
Oklahoma March 12, 1861 and died October 9, 1933. She had one sister, a Mrs. Tinsley, who had one daughter, Elizabeth. The Tinsley family lived on North
Arkansas in Russellville. As a child I can remember the house in the 900 block.

Newt had three brothers: Zack, Nathan and W. H., and two sisters, Cynthia and Caroline. Caroline was born in
Georgia in 1831 and came to
Arkansas at the age of 13. She married William Arnold in 1855. They had no children of their own but raised 21, those of her widowed sister and stepchildren. Caroline lived to be 102 and was a teacher.
Nathan and his wife, Mary Susan, had three daughters: Ethel, Hattie and Elsa. Ethel married William Gentry in 1895. The had one daughter, Jewel, who married Guy Price. Jewel had two sons, John and Jimmy. Hattie married a man by the name of Jordan . Nathan’s wife, Mary Susan was born in 1876 and died in 1932. {according to census records she was born Aug 1865}
Newt and Maggie had ten children, five girls and five boys. One daughter, Mary Etta, was born in 1878 and died in 1949. She married Thomas Simpson, who was born in 1882 and died in 1940. To them were born six daughters, as follows:
Della, who married Bill
Beck, had no children. After Bill’s death, she married Wylie
Hanson. They had no children.
Zera married
Tommie Lewis. Two children were born to them: Mary Eva and
Tommie D.. Zera and Tommy lived in Morrilton ,
Arkansas . She died in April, 1985.
Pauline married Woodrow Wilder. They have two sons and live in Memphis , Tennessee .
Ruth married Clyde Goddard. He is deceased and Ruth lives in Russellville. To them was born one son, who lives in Jonesboro ,
Arkansas .
Era married Walter
Poole and they had one son, Jimmy. They all live in Russellville.
Lorene married Walter
Iverson, to whom were born two daughters. Walter is deceased and Lorene lives in Fayetteville ,
Arkansas .
Newt and Maggie’s second daughter, Dora, was born December 28, 1883 and died October 10, 1971. She first married Elmer
Parks, May 30, 1904. To them were born three children: Newt, born on February 14, 1905 and died January 1, 1980. Newt married Ruby
McNaulty, who was born August 13, 1907. To them were born two children, William Edward and Madge. William married Rebecca
Phillips and they had two sons. Madge married Lewis Yendrek, and they have a son and daughter.
The second child born to Dora and Elmer was Jessie on January 2, 1907 and died June 20, 1959. Jessie married Melta Sonny Rider and to them were born four children: Bobby Gene, Ruby, Sue and Elmer. Ruby is married to Leroy Kuykendall. Sue is married to Bill Luce and they have three daughters, Angela, Kelly and Kristen. Elmer was born December 31, 1940 and married Linda Staggs. They have two children, a daughter Pam and a son Timmy.
Dora and Elmer had a daughter, Sybil, who died at the age of 13.
After Elmer Parks’ death, Dora married J. M. Jones on April 29, 1911. He was born in 1850 and died June 20, 1921. They had five children: Bessie Caroline, born November 10, 1912, James William, born October 15, 1914 and died November 14, 1979. Luke was another son but there is no record of his birth date or death. Dolly was born September 16, 1916. Katherine was born March 30, 1921.
Bessie married Joe
Poe December 29, 1928. Joe was born October 11, 1911. To them were born six children, as follows:
Betty Louise, born November 17, 1929. She married Dick McNeley, and to them were born four children: Linda, Connie, Christine and Michael John. Linda married Ron Conrad and they have three sons. Connie married David Wallukait and they have two daughters and one son, Michele, Monica and Matthew David. Christine first married Neal Aukland and they had one son, Tommy. After their divorce she married Randy Wynn. They have three children, twin sons Johnny and Joey, and one daughter Amber Louise. Michael John is not married.
Bessie and Joe’s son, William Joseph, was born March 16, 1932. William married Nancy Rogers June 14, 1955. They have four children: William Jr., Robert, Donald and Terry Lee.
Another son, Edgar Allen, was born July 11, 1934 and died September 16, 1941.
The next son, Leamond, was born September 19, 1937 and died the following day.
Another son, Madison, was born October 11, 1936 and died at birth.
Their second daughter, Barbara Ellen, was born November 21, 1938. She married Phillip Peterson June 20, 1959. To them were born five children: David, Danny, Derek, Debby and Doug.
Dora and J. M.’s son, James William, married Lorene Scott in 1933 and they had six children: Billy James, Mildred, Gladys, Jerry Don, Lois and Doris.
Billy James married Letha Dodson and they have one son, Greg. Mildred married Raymond Wofford and they have a son Timothy and a daughter Dana Rochelle. Gladys married Wayne Martin and to them were born two sons, Michael and Jeffrey. Jerry married Judy Boxwell and they have one daughter, Jennifer. Lois married David Williams and they had a son Scott. They were divorced and she married Steve Watkins. Doris married Burhl
Goad and they had one son, Chad . They were divorced and she is now married to Gary Brandt.
After Lorene’s death, James married Irma Jo Adams.
Dolly married Barton Loftis. They have no children. She graduated with a degree in nursing in 1940 and served with the Air Force during WWII in Germany .
Katherine married
Pat Lewis and they had one daughter, Patricia, who was born April 26, 1943 and was killed in an accident February 9, 1949. She was struck by a car as she left the school bus. After her divorce from
Pat, Katherine married
Kennard Chinn on February 17, 1945. They have no children.
Dora had four sisters, Ida, Mary Etta, Florence and Stella and five brothers, Eric, Arthur, Albert, Claude and Clyde .
Ida was born in 1885 and died in December 1941. She married
Mack Jones, who was born in 1888 and died in 1951. They had no children.
Mary Etta’s children are listed on page one.
Florence was born in 1895 and died August 7, 1931. She married Clyde Toler. He was born ___ 17, 1892 and died August 7, 1968. They had no children.
Stella was born April 14, 1893 in
Oklahoma and died August 7, 1967. She was married to Lee Franklin Reed October 7, 1932 in Russellville. To them were born 13 children, namely:
Frederick Paul, born October 15, 1911 in Russellville.
Clyete, born November 27, 1913 and died January 3, 1919
Mildred, born April 16, 1915 and died April 30, 1915
Flora May, born May 6, 1916
Ruby Lee, born December 28, 1919 and died July 19, 1957

Stella Love, born December 27, 1942

Gladys Pearl, born December 28, 1919 and died at birth

Mary Elizabeth, born January 3, 1925. She was married to Olysses Willson in 1939.

Dora’s brother, Albert, was born October 14, 1892 and died January 19, 1969. He was married to Mildred Shaderick who was born August 14, 1905. They had no children but raised a “son” Millard Lewis, commonly known as “Curly”. He was never adopted legally. Mildred died in 1985.
Another brother, Claude, was born April 13, 1900. He was first married to Ethal
Brock, which ended in divorce. They had no children. He married Irene Milton, September 15, 1934. They had no children.
Her brother, Clyde , was born December 2, 1902 and died May 11, 1984. He first married Jessie Lee Hamilton and they had on son, Ralph, who died in 1963. Jessie Lee died in 1964 and on January 11, 1969 he married her sister, Ruth Gaddis. Ruth had two sons and a daughter by a previous marriage.
Another brother, Arthur, was born in 1888 and died in 1975. He was married to Maude Burris, born in 1894. They had two sons and two daughters: Bill, Lawrence, Gladys and Bobbye. Gladys is married to Leo George and lives in Little Rock . Bobbye married James Hutcheson and they live in
Oklahoma .
Dora’s brother, Eric, was born in 1879 and died in August, 1962. He married Sally
Bowen, who was born in 1883 and died in 1967. Sally’s parents were a Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Bowen. Her sister was Anna Caudle and her brother Jess
Bowen. He was an Assembly of God minister.
Eric and Sally had two sons, Austin born September 17, 1902 and Fay Boice born April 1911 and died October 11, 1918. Austin married Viola Mary
McNaulty and they had two sons. Austin Leon, Jr. born March 5, 1925 and Paul Eric born in 1926.
