Her name will be published if she is "head of household" [widowed or single and living alone].

Copying pages of city directories is not permitted.

From 1953 and later city directories were published in two volumes - EAST SIDE & WEST SIDE.

Try the Burton Historical Collection of the main Detroit Library for a lookup in the 1938 directory. They might do one or two, not sure.
