Seeking information on Samuel John Austin Sr. who acidentally drowned in July 1824 at Grand Point, Queens Co., NB.
I believe he was connected with the Methodist Church and hope to attain information to confirm birth, marriage, and death records for him and his family.
His first wife - Elizabeth ? b. USA d. NB
their child - Mary Austin b. abt 1786 NB d. Boston Suffolk Co USA 1856 married ?

His second wife - Eva Gabel b. abt 1765 d. Sept 7, 1854
m. November 23, 1788 in Gagetown NB
d/o David Gabel, Sr and Catherine Rhinehart.

I found a family tree on ancestry.com regarding this family but wish to confirm information especially on Samuel John Austin, Sr so that I may find his lineage. I've been told he may be connected to John Austin of Connecticutt and I hope a death or marriage record may help verify.

MADE OF GRAVES IN OLD BURIAL GROUND." The Old Burail Ground is what is now known as the Loyalist Burial Ground in Saint John, New Brunswick. It was found in
"Saint John - The Past is the Present" (971.532/SAI)
at the Saint John Regional Library. You should note
the fifth entry:

Thank you for the information. I am still looking for information on Samuel Austin Sr, David Gabel's son-in-law. I doubt that there is a grave for him as he drowned and I don't think his body was recovered for burial. I had hoped I could find something that may confirm the names of his parents, perhaps in a marriage certificate or baptismal of one of the children. Glad to have the information you sent to me though.

My gggrandfather was Samuel Austin. My great grandfather was Nathaniel J P Austin. I have only heard of references to the Church of England. Let me know if I can help you with more information.
