Edmond (aka Edward) and Ellena Ronayne

I'm searching for death information for

Edmond (aka Edward) Ronayne, b. Nov. 1832, Gurtrue, Cork, Ireland, d. between 1910 and 1916, Precinct 37, Boulder, Colorado, age 78+

Ellena Ronayne, b. July 1866, New York, d. before June 1916, Precinct 37, Boulder, Colorado (there were deed transfers at that time).

They had two daughters, Ruth, b. 1901, Chicago, Illinois and Rachel, born 1902, Chicago, Illinois. The family appears in the 1900 US Census in Chicago and in the 1910 US Census in Boulder.

Edmond was the author of a number of books about Freemasonry and other controversial topics; his name is frequently given as "Edward" (probably because he just said "Ed" to a census taker rather than "Edmond," i suppose).

I would be grateful for any information or pointers to where to find information. I have already searched every Colorado cemetery listing I can find along with public records that provide a search capability.

Thanks.

FYI,
Ellena, Ruth and Rachel do not show up on the Colorado marriages thru 1939. I do find Rachel in 1920 Federal census. But no luck on the others.
Good Hunting,
Frank

Frank:

Thanks for that - I knew Rachel showed in the 1920 census (a border, possibly attending school) and I've been hunting (apparently in the wrong place) for marriages; it's helpful to know where not to look, eh?

Best wishes for the new year.

Thomas

Hello,
I just saw your post. I just was at the Longmont Library today and they have an awesome obit reference and then the newspapers on reels....I found 9 obits today.

I am going to start a list of being needing obits and try to get back up to Longmont real soon. I am about 1/2 hour from there.

In the meantime...Mountain View Cemetery is the main cemetery..and the oldest. The lady there is extremely helpful and she can look up to see if your people are buried there. The phone # is 303-776-1036.

I have you on my list and hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get back up to Longmont and let you know what I find....

Hi, Anna,

Thanks for the information -- if you could find an obit for either of them, I'd be most grateful to know.

I'll contact the cemetery and see what I might be able to find out (beyond that they're buried there, eh?).

Thanks again,

Thomas

I put in a photo request for the gravestones a few days ago.
I would be related on the bride's side of the family.
Does anyone know where the first wife died.

Edmond's first wife was Margaret Lynch (b. 1829 Cappamore, Limerick, Ireland, d. 3 Apr 1897 Chicago, Cook, Illinois USA.
She was the daughter of William Lynch (b. 1785 Cappamore, Limerick, d. 4 Aug 1865, Stevens Point, Portage, Wisconsin USA) and Bridget English (b. 1792, Limerick, d. 22 Feb 1899, Stevens Point).

I have a GEDCOM of Edmond's family that I would be happy to send you via e-mail; let me know.

Hi Thomas,
If you look in Find-a-grave in the Valmont Cemetery in Boulder, you will find both Edmond and Ellena.
This is very exciting....
Take a look!!!!
